Formula 1 is returning to Austin Oct. 31 & Nov. 1-2, 2014. Capital Metro will be ready to provide service to race fans and Fan Fest goers, as well as Austinites just looking to get around town. We’re here to help.

Use the Capital Metro Trip Planner to get to the Austin Convention Center where the Circuit of the Americas shuttle service will take fans to the racetrack.

Formula 1 Transit Service

Capital Metro encourages visitors and locals to ride transit during F1 to avoid street closures and parking downtown.  

In addition to regular local bus and rail service, Capital Metro is expanding service during Formula 1:

 Take the FREE Downtown Loop - This free bus service will help you get around downtown. It will run Nov. 16 – 18 from 7 a.m. – 2:30 a.m, every 15 minutes (may be delayed due to traffic). It will circle 15th St., San Jacinto, 7th St, Red River, Cesar Chavez and Lavaca on a continuous loop. Check out the route on the map to the right.

MetroAirport Bus Service - Route 100 will travel to and from Austin Bergstrom International Airport and downtown every 15 minutes from Nov. 15 – 19 for $1 each way. Hours are weekdays 5:30 a.m. – 11:30 p.m., Saturday 6 a.m. – 11 p.m. and Sunday 8 a.m. – 11 p.m.

MetroRail Service - Hours will be expanded on Nov. 17 and special service added on 18. Cost is $1 one-way/one zone fare or $2.75 one-way/all-zones fare, and $5.50 all-zone day pass all-zones. Trains will run:

Friday, Nov. 16: 6 a.m. – midnight
Saturday, Nov. 17: 10 a.m. – midnight
Sunday, Nov. 18: 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.

Austin Capital Metro app- With this FREE app, you can purchase multiple Day Passes or 7-day passes on your phone, use the handy trip planner to plan your trip via transit, access maps, and find other helpful F1, city event and hotel information. The app will be available for download starting October 31 at the App Store or Google Play, and can be used for mobile payments from Nov. 10 – 24.

Detours

As many downtown streets will be closed to vehicular traffic, most downtown bus service will be detoured Nov. 15-18. Service will be accessible along Guadalupe (southbound) and Lavaca (northbound). Anticipated downtown street closures include: 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 8th, 9th, 10th and 11th Streets, Congress and Colorado, some beginning Nov. 14-18
