Using the Capital Metro / Google Maps interface
Capital Metro is making service area, route, and schedule data available using the Google Maps API (application programming interface). Google maps are dynamic, interactive maps that you can drag and zoom - no clicking and waiting each time you want to view the adjacent parts of a map. Use your mouse or the directional arrows to pan left, right, up and down to see areas that are hidden offscreen. Use the slider to zoom in and zoom out or press the + or - keys.

The navigation controls you see on each Capital Metro web map are shown on the left. Navigation controls include:

1. Arrows - Click the appropriate arrow buttons to move the view north, south, east or west. Click Center button to return to your original view.
2. Zoom - Click + to zoom in on the center of the map. Click - to zoom out.
3. Zoom slider - Drag the zoom slider up or down to zoom in or out incrementally.
Each Capital Metro web map contains an 'overview' map window, located in the lower right corner of the view. You can easily resposition the main map display by clicking and dragging the blue shaded box in this window.
The Capital Metro logo appears near the upper right corner of the view. You can click this to go directly to the Capital Metro home page.
The default view ("Map") for all Capital Metro web maps resembles a normal street map. Click "Satellite" in the top right corner of the page to see aerial imagery. You can also choose the hybrid view, which displays the aerial imagery along with additional information - including streets, street names, and landmarks.
An address locator (geocoder) is provided on all map pages. Type in an address and click "Go!". If the address is found, a marker will be placed on the map, and the view will zoom in to show the location. NOTE: The method used to locate an address, referred to as geocoding, is based on street centerline information, and may not reflect the actual physical location of a building. Use this only as a guide to the actual location requested.

Capital Metro is making route, schedule, service area, and Paratransit ADA information available using Google Maps. Every effort to ensure compatibility within various Internet browsers has been made, however, these maps may not function (or look) the same in all browsers. These maps have been tested with the following browsers: Internet Explorer 6, Internet Explorer 7, Firefox, Safari, and Opera. If you have problems with the maps, please refer to this page. Users of Safari and Opera will need to ensure Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) is installed and enabled. Ongoing efforts are underway to improve cross browser compatibility. Geospatial related maps and data in particular pose challenges to full accessibility due to the current design of software applications. Capital Metro is actively working to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (Texas Administrative Code §206 and Section 508 (29 U.S.C. 794d). We are continually working to accommodate all citizens who visit our web-based applications.
