Capital Metro to Operate Reduced Service Schedule on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

 Frequency on Route 2 to be increased for riders attending MLK festivities


Austin, TexasJan. 16, 2013 – On Monday, Jan. 21, Capital Metro will operate its Saturday bus schedule in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. There will be no MetroRail, UT Shuttle or E-Bus service.

MetroAccess customers needing to keep their subscription trips on Jan. 21 will need to call (512) 478-9647 to schedule them. The reservation line will be staffed on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Capital Metro administrative offices and the Transit Store will be closed Jan. 21; however the GO Line will be staffed from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and customers will still have 24-hour access to the automated phone line and online trip planner.

For just $1 ($2 for a Day Pass), event goers can catch a ride on route #2-Rosewood, which makes stops adjacent to the planned MLK March & Rally and other event-related destinations. Capital Metro is adding buses to the route between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. so that riders can catch a bus every 15 minutes.

Other convenient routes for getting to and from the day's festivities include route #4- Montopolis, route #18-MLK Jr./Enfield, and #21/22-Exposition/Chicon.

The public is encouraged to plan their trips by using our online trip planner or by calling the GO Line at (512) 474-1200.

Capital Metro Operará Servicios Reducidos el Día de Martin Luther King, Jr. 

Aumentando Frecuencia Para Pasajeros Atendiendo las Festividades de MLK  

Austin, Texas 16 de enero del 2013 – El lunes, 21 de enero, Capital Metro operará su horario de día sábado en observancia del Día de Martin Luther King, Jr. No hará servicio de MetroRail, UT Shuttle o E-Bus.

Clientes de MetroAccess que necesiten mantener sus viajes durante el 21 de enero deben llamar al (512) 478-9647 para programar su viaje. La línea de reserva será atendida el Día de Martin Luther King, Jr. desde las 8 a.m. hasta 5 p.m.

Las oficinas administrativas de Capital Metro y la Tienda de Tránsito se cerrará el 21 de enero; sin embargo, la línea GO Line (512) 474-1200 estará en servicio de 8 a.m. hasta 5 p.m. Clientes siempre tendrán acceso las 24 horas a la línea telefónica automatizada y al planificador de viajes que se encuentra en el sitio de web.
