AUSTIN, Texas
(Feb. 15, 2013) — Regional transportation agencies unveiled a
high-capacity transit vision for Central Texas on Feb. 1, and are now inviting
the public to weigh in on the vision.
The Project Connect
regional transit plan was the product of more than a year of collaborative work
between Capital Metro, the City of Austin, Capital Area Metropolitan Planning
Organization (CAMPO) and the Lone Star Rail District. The plan includes such
components as regional rail, commuter rail, urban rail, rapid transit and
express lanes in a highly connected system to address the demand for
high-capacity transportation options for Central
Texas.
