On Tuesday, April 10, Federal Transit Administrator Peter Rogoff will join Capital Metro and Texas officials at Republic Square Park to make a major announcement regarding MetroRapid transit service, which will arrive on Austin streets in 2014.
Congressman Lloyd Doggett, Austin Mayor Lee Leffingwell, Capital Metro Chairman and Austin City Council Member Mike Martinez, Capital Metro President/CEO Linda S. Watson and other officials will join Administrator Rogoff and participate in the announcement. A 60-foot articulated bus, similar to the type of bus that will be used for MetroRapid, will serve as the backdrop for the event.
