- Introduction of CSAC members, staff, and visitors
- Approval of Minutes for July 15, 2009 CSAC Meeting
Motion to approve the minutes made Mr. MacKinnon, second by Mr. Royal. Motioned passed with Mr. Patterson abstaining.
- Citizens Communication
Mr. Zich-Evancih addressed the Committee regarding the proposal to discontinue printing of the Destination schedule book.
- Proposed 2010 Budget Update
Mr. Cortez reviewed the current budget assumptions, planned administrative reductions and the status of the budget process.
- Proposed Dillo Elimination
Mrs. Highsmith reviewed the proposed 3% service reduction and specifically the proposed suspension of the Dillo circulator service. CSAC adopted a resolution in support of the proposed service changes, which is attached to these minutes.
- Proposed Fare Increase
CSAC discussed several proposed alternatives for fare increases. CSAC decided to wait for the proposals to become more definite before making a specific recommendation to the Cap Metro Board.
- Proposed Elimination of Destinations Schedule Book
Mr. L’Amie made a presentation on the previously proposed changes to the distribution of the Destinations Schedule Book. CSAC approved a resolution on this matter for the Capital Metro Board’s consideration, which is attached to these minutes:
- Information Technology Update
Mr. Talbott provided the Committee with an update on various information technology projects at Capital Metro.
- Report from Urban Transportation Commission
Mr. MacKinnon provided an update on the activities of the Urban Transportation Commission.

CUSTOMER SATISFACTION ADVISORY COMMITTEE
Resolution # 20090812-02
WHEREAS the Customer Satisfaction Advisory Committee (CSAC) serves as an advisory body to the Capital Metropolitan Transportation Authority Board of Directors, as outlined in the Transportation Code, Subtitle K. “Mass Transportation”, Section § 451.109 “Advisory Committee;” and
WHEREAS, CSAC represents a broad range of riders with diverse backgrounds and needs and reviews, studies, and makes recommendations to the Capital Metro Board of Directors; and
WHEREAS, CSAC receives and studies member and citizen comments and suggestions in all areas of Capital Metro operations, including but not limited to route planning, facility design and operation, customer service, marketing, budgeting, purchasing, and special projects; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that CSAC recommends that Capital Metro move forward with the proposed suspension of Dillo service, in view of budget constraints; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that CSAC recommends that Capital Metro staff review within 9 months the feasibility or resuming downtown circulator service, and specifically an east-west circulator service.

WHEREAS, CSAC receives and studies member and citizen comments and suggestions in all areas of Capital Metro operations, including but not limited to route planning, facility design and operation, customer service, marketing, budgeting, purchasing, and special projects; and
WHEREAS, the ability to quickly and conveniently access the information needed to effectively and efficiently utilize all available transit options enhances Capital Metro customer satisfaction; and
WHEREAS, CSAC believes that a significant number of Capital Metro customers use the printed schedule book, DESTINATIONS to facilitate use of various transit services; and
WHEREAS, CSAC is aware of current budget challenges facing Capital Metro; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that CSAC urges the Capital Metro Board to include in the 2010 Budget funding for printing and making available DESTINATIONS at a cost to be determined by the Capital Metro staff to be as close to revenue neutral as practicable; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that CSAC recommends that Capital Metro transition DESTINATIONS to on-line distribution augmented by better distribution of pocket schedules on Cap Metro vehicles and through retail partners, public libraries and on-demand printing services.
