Changes to service to become effective August 24, 2008

August Service Change

Capital Metro will implement a major service change on August 24, 2008. We want to make sure you are aware of the changes and understand how your routes will be impacted.

New route maps and schedules for all routes effective August 24 are now available.

  • Capitol Transfer Center Closes - As required by the State of Texas, service from the main bus stops located directly in front of the Capitol will be removed. Passengers wishing to transfer downtown may continue to do so at any available bus stop downtown including available bus stops on 10th and Congress. Map
  • `Dillos Revamped - The Orange, Red, Gold, Blue and Silver 'Dillos will be replaced by two new routes, the Congress and 6th Street `Dillos, with service every five minutes weekdays and every 11 minutes weekends. Map
  • South Congress Transit Center Opens - This new facility near Ben White and South Congress offers a new southern transfer point for routes 1L, 1M, 9, 101, 328, and new route 202. Map
  • Expanded Service - Route 1L service is expanding to Southpark Meadows near South Congress and Slaughter Lane. Route 201 is getting new Sunday service between William Cannon/Bluff Springs and Southpark Meadows. Route 101 will introduce all day service (6 a.m. to 6 p.m.) between North Lamar Transit Center and the new South Congress Transit Center. In addition, during morning and afternoon peak hours, service will be extended from William Cannon to the Tech Ridge Park & Ride.
  • Paired Route Changes - Modifications to the following paired routes:
    • Route 4 will be unlinked from Route 18 and extended to Lake Austin Boulevard near Mopac. Each route will operate independently.
    • Route 5 will be unlinked from Route 26 and instead will be paired with Route 16, serving the South Fifth street corridor. The entire route will now be known as Route 5 Woodrow/South Fifth.
    • Route 7 will merge with its longtime pair partner Route 27 and will now be known as Route 7 Duval/Dove Springs.
    • Route 9 will also merge with its pair partner Route 14 and will now be known simply as Route 9 Enfield/Travis Heights.
    • Route 10 will be unlinked from Route 20 and will merge with Route 15. The entire route will be called the 10 Red River/South First.
    • Route 20 will unlink from Route 10 and merge with Route 26. The new route will be called Route 20 Manor/Riverside.
