Capital Metro to Offer Free ACL Music Fest Shuttles
Transit Authority Will Announce More Details Soon August 21, 2008NEWS FACTS
- Capital Metro is pleased to announce it will once again provide free shuttle service to the Austin City Limits Music Festival Friday, Sept. 26 through Sunday, Sept. 28.
- Capital Metro is still working on the plan to shuttle at least 100,000 festival goers from Republic Square at 4th and Guadalupe streets to Zilker Park.
- More details about the service will be released soon.
- Capital Metro has fully complied with the Federal Transit Administration¿s charter regulations and is able to provide the shuttle service because no eligible private charter companies remain interested.
- Capital Metro encourages the use of its regular bus routes, but wanted to provide this service to the community due to the high attendance and limited parking and access to Zilker Park.
- In 2007, Capital Metro provided 99,950 trips for ACL Fest.
