New Bus Stop Signage Keeps You In the Know, On the Go

New Sign Example

Use your bus stop's ID# and your cell phone to get schedule information for that stop. New signage at your bus stop tells you how.

You might be thinking, what if you don't have a phone? No worries. Capital Metro will continue to provide free route brochures and system maps onboard the bus. And of course, don't forget Destinations, the official Capital Metro schedule book. Buy it at the Transit Store for $3.

1 - TOBACCO

To promote a healthier environment for everyone waiting at a bus stop, Capital Metro is encouraging riders to observe the sign and step away from the bus stop before using tobacco products. Capital Metro supports a tobacco-free workplace and facilities. Learn more about our tobacco policy.

2 - STOP ID#

Look for a unique stop ID# at each bus stop. This number corresponds to the bus stop itself, not the routes that stop there. Use your bus stop's ID# to get schedules on your phone, 4 different ways.

3 - GO LINE

During office hours (7am – 8pm weekdays, 8am – 5pm weekends), call the Go Line and talk to a person.

4 - TEXT

Use DadnabTM, a free text messaging service, to get schedule info via reply text. Text your bus stop ID# to (512) 981-6221, and you'll quickly receive a reply text with the next scheduled bus arrivals at that stop. Learn more about Dadnab™.

5 - WEB

Open capmetro.org/stopID from your phone and input your bus stop ID# to pull up a mobile-friendly website with the next bus arrivals.

6 - QR CODE

Scan the square barcode on the sign using a QR reader app (many free readers are available from your phone's apps marketplace), and next bus times and a route map will be displayed on your smartphone.

7 - BRAILLE

Later in 2012, each of the new signs will also be outfitted with Braille and raised lettering corresponding to the bus stop ID# and the routes that serve that stop.
