Share Your Commute with a Carpool

Carpools are not a new idea, but getting Capital Metro to help you organize your Carpool might be an option you haven't considered. We have a computer program that will help match you to a Carpool buddy (or buddies). Your ride match list will include folks who live and work near you and have similar work schedules. And we also have a Carpool Tip Sheet with hints to help you organize your Carpool.

How Does Your Carpool Work?

  • You drive one week and your Carpool buddy drives the next. No money need be involved. Buddies that live farther away could pick you up and you share the cost of gas. You simply iron out the details between the two of you.
  • How do you find a Carpool buddy? You can talk to your co-workers, neighbors and friends. Or you could go the Human Resource office at your job. They could help you find someone that lives in your zip code.
  • Or Capital Metro can help. To contact us about a Carpool, call 477-RIDE (477-7433).

Carpooling to work also gives you a nice break from the stress of rush-hour traffic. In addition, Carpooling saves you money and helps our community by reducing both traffic and air pollution. Please call 477-RIDE now.
