Transit Store: Hours and Services

The Capital Metro Transit Store is located at the corner of 4th and Congress Avenue in Austin’s downtown area. We are open Monday through Friday and closed during Capital Metro's Administrative Holidays.

Services offered by the Transit Store

Tickets and Passes

  • You can purchase Capital Metro bus passes at our Transit Store or at any participating Ticket Outlet
  • You can also purchase bus passes with your debit/credit card online (there is a 5-7 day processing period from when you place your order until you receive your passes)

Schedule Books, System and Pocket Maps, and Quick Trip Itineraries

  • Destinations, Capital Metro's official schedule book, provides the times and bus stop locations of all Capital Metro routes. Destinations is available for free download online. You may also buy the schedule book for $3 at the Transit Store.
  • System Maps contain all Capital Metro bus routes and frequencies; pocket maps contain timepoint and bus stop location information for a single route. If the pocket map you need is not available, one can be printed for you. There is no charge for system or pocket maps.
  • You can also request a quick printed trip itinerary. Provide the representative with an origin and destination and an itinerary will be provided to you for your trip. Due to staff availability, the Transit Store will make every effort to provide you with an up to date itinerary however, we strongly encourage you to contact the Go Line at (512) 474-1200. The Go Line is equipped with the needed software to help you get to your destination as efficiently as possible.

Lost & Found
Capital Metro is not responsible for any items left on our buses, bus stops, or transit centers. To find out if an item was turned in please call the Transit Store.

  • Items lost today, if turned in, will arrive at Capital Metro’s Transit Store by 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Items lost on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, if turned in, will arrive by Monday at 3:00 p.m. Please contact the store after 3:30 p.m. to ensure all newly arrived items have been properly processed. Please note: Returned items can take up to three business days to arrive at the Transit Store.
  • Wallets, purses, and prescription medications are given special consideration; if it has been less than one hour from the time you left your wallet, purse or prescription medication on a bus; please call the Go Line at (512) 474-1200. Go Line hours of operation are Monday - Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m., Saturdays and Sundays, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
  • When calling in or leaving a message to check on a lost item, it would help to know the following:
    • Your name, date and time the item was lost
    • Type of item and description
    • A contact number where you can be reached
    • Name or identifying documents within (wallets, purses, envelopes)
    • o If you spoke to someone at our Go Line (512) 474-1200), please provide the date, time, and name of the person you spoke with
      • Calls are returned within 24 hours of leaving a message. All messages left on Friday after 5:30 p.m. and during the weekend will be answered the next business day.

Reduced Fare ID Cards

  • Reduced Fare ID Cards are only issued to persons with a completed application during the times above. Request an application via mail or fax by contacting the Transit Store, or download the application and instructions online. The card costs $3.00.
  • If you need to renew your card, please stop by the Transit Store and update your personal information by completing the Reduced Fare ID Card Renewal Form. There is a $3.00 fee for renewals.
  • If your card was lost, stolen, or damaged you can obtain a replacement for a $3.00 fee (third and subsequent replacement cards are $6.00) during the Reduced Fare ID Card hours.

Please note:You must sign in by 4:25 p.m. in order to meet the 4:30 deadline for processing Reduced Fare ID Cards. No cards will be issued to persons arriving at or after 4:30 p.m.

Go-Line and Route Information Obtain route information 24 hours a day by calling the Go Line at (512) 474-1200 or visiting our online trip planner. The Go Line is also available to assist you with specific route information, comments, concerns, and suggestions during business hours: Monday – Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m., Saturdays and Sundays 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
