Capital Metro Adjusts Weekend Downtown Service Demonstrations, Old Pecan Street Arts Festival Mean Detours, Shuttle Service

(Austin) – Capital Metro bus routes on several Austin downtown streets will be detoured this weekend, with some supplemented by shuttles. Possible protest marches to the Capital on Saturday, May 3 between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. may require detours on many bus routes through the downtown area.

Similarly, downtown bus routes will be detoured both Saturday and Sunday, May 3-4, for the 24^th Annual Old Pecan Street Arts Festival. Buses that normally transfer at 6^th and Brazos will transfer at 6^th and Congress for these two days.

Pecan Street Shuttle Service

For those attending the festival, Capital Metro will run shuttles from the state parking garages at 14^th and San Jacinto to the festival at 6^th Street from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Shuttle prices for one-way trips are $1 for adults and $0.50 for children, with kids under age six riding free.
