Capital Metro Will Provide Shuttle Service to Various Local Celebrations

AUSTIN, Texas, June 23, 2003 – In celebration of Independence Day, Capital Metro will offer free services to the following 4th of July festivities throughout the Austin metropolitan area:

The H.E.B. Austin Symphony July 4th Concert and Fireworks - Shuttle service will run from Waterloo Park, near East 15th Street and Trinity, to the Mopac footbridge over Town Lake at Stephen F. Austin Blvd. Parking will be available in State Parking Garages A and B. Concert goers will cross the footbridge and walk through Zilker Park to the symphony site. The symphony will be located on the far East end of Zilker Park overlooking Town Lake. The free shuttle service will begin at 4:00 p.m. and end at 11:30 p.m.

Lago Vista 4th of July Celebration at Lake Travis --The trolley will pick up riders at the City Hall parking area and the high school and take them to Bar K Park/Soccer Field near Lake Travis, beginning at 10:00 a.m. and ending at 11:30 p.m.

Leander Liberty Fest -- The service will run from 3:00 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. Buses will depart from the Leander Middle School parking lot on 410 S. West Drive and take riders to festivities at the Crystal Falls Golf Course.

78704th of July Parade - Trolley service will run from noon to 3:00 p.m. from Little Stacey Park to St. Edward's University (North Entrance on East Side Drive).
