Hybrid-Electric Bus on Display at Car Care for Clean Air Event Capital Metro backs Clean Air Efforts with Travis County, Clean Air ForceWHAT : Capital Metro Hybrid Bus on display at Car Care for Clean Air eventWHEN : Saturday, October 25, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.WHERE : Highland Mall parking lot (outside Foley's) One of Capital Metro's new Hybrid Electric buses will be on display at this weekend's Car Care for Clean Air event, sponsored by Travis County and the Clean Air Force of Texas. The event is designed to educate the public about how vehicle emissions contribute to air pollution, and how their own transportation choices - and vehicles - may contribute. Capital Metro's Hybrid bus will be on hand to support the clean air effort and demonstrate one of the latest clean vehicle engine technologies. Because central Texans may soon be required to submit to the additional costs of emission inspections during their annual safety inspection, Travis County has teamed up with the Clean Air Force of Texas. The Car Care for Clean Air event will provide free emission tests for all gasoline-powered vehicles and give the public an opportunity to ask questions about the testing technology, how a vehicle inspection and maintenance program might work in our region and how to maintain your vehicle to reduce air pollution in our region.
