FALL 2000 SERVICE CHANGES


 

After a series of public meetings, surveys and a public hearing, the Capital Metro Board of Directors approved service changes designed to improve on-time performance, enhance access to employment, commercial and residential areas, and improve transfer connections between routes.  The following changes are effective Sunday, August 13, 2000:

 

3 Burnet: All schedules have received adjustments.

 

10 S. 1st: Buses no longer serve the William Cannon, Emerald Forest, Turtle Creek and Woodhue areas (alternate service is available via new Route 203 and 204 extensions).  New routing continues along South First St to Slaughter Ln and Manchaca Rd.  Service is paired with Route 12 Manchaca at this southern end.  Service continues to be paired with Route 20 Manor Rd at its northern end.  All schedules have received adjustments. 

 

12 Manchaca: Buses no longer serve the Cannon League and Matthews areas.  New routing continues along Manchaca Rd to Slaughter Ln.  Service is paired with Route 10 South First at this southern end.  Service continues to be paired with Route 3 Burnet at its northern end.  All schedules have received adjustments. 

 

14 Travis Heights: Service operates along Todd Ln and St. Elmo Rd before arriving to the Friedrich Ln and Woodward St area.

 

15 Red River: All schedules have received adjustments.

 

16 S. 5th/Westgate: Route is extended beyond the Mopac and US 290 area to serve portions of South MoPac, Monterrey Oaks and Staggerbrush Rd.  All schedules have received adjustments

 

20 Manor Road: All schedules have received adjustments.

 

23 Johnny Morris: Scheduled changes are delayed pending placement of a traffic signal at Ed Bluestein/51st St by the new YMCA.  No change to existing service.

 

37 Colony Park / Windsor Park: Route is unpaired from Route 38 South Lamar and now operates alone.  Southernmost service in the Downtown area is to 5th Street.

Weekday peak hour frequency is adjusted to operate at 15 minutes (bi-directionally); Saturday and Sunday services have received adjustments.

 

38 South Lamar / Westgate: Route is unpaired from Route 37 Colony Park / Windsor Park and now operates alone.  Northernmost service in the Downtown area is to 11th Street. All schedules have received adjustments.

 

101 N Lamar Limited: One Weekday morning trip on Route 245 Copperfield departing the Braker Ln / N Lamar Blvd area at 7:05 am continues as Route 101 departing North Lamar Transfer Center at 7:16 am and allows passengers to continue their trip to downtown without a transfer.  One Weekday afternoon trip on Route 101 departing the Congress Ave / 6th St area at 5:06 pm continues as Route 245 Copperfield departing North Lamar Transfer Center at 5:35 pm and allows passengers to continue their trip up to the Braker Ln /IH-35 area without a transfer.

120 St. Johns: Weekday schedules have received minor adjustments.

 

203 Buckingham: Buses no longer serve the Cannon League and Matthews areas.  Service is extended from William Cannon Dr to the Woodhue, Turtle Creek and Emerald Forest areas.  Evening service on Weekdays, Saturday and Sunday end at 8pm (alternate evening service within walking distance to most areas along this route is available via new route extensions on Routes 10 South First and 12 Manchaca).  Sunday service begins at 8:30 am.

 

204 SW Oaks: Buses no longer serve the Cannon League and Matthews areas.  Service is extended from William Cannon Dr to the Woodhue, Turtle Creek and Emerald Forest areas. 

 

214 Lago Vista Feeder:  Route replaces 102 Lago Vista Feeder.  Service is extended to the Lakeline Mall Dr/Pecan Park Blvd area.  Before 12 noon, service operates first to Northwest Park & Ride before serving the Lakeline Mall Dr./Pecan Park Blvd area.  After 12 noon, service operates first to the Lakeline Mall Dr./Pecan Park Blvd area before serving Northwest Park & Ride.

 

242 Metric: One Weekday midday trip is extended to the Wells Branch HEB Park & Ride.  Trip is scheduled to depart the North Lamar Transfer Center at 12:28 pm and arrives to Wells Branch HEB Park & Ride at 1:10 pm.  Trip is timed to transfer with Route 1 N Lamar and 74 N Burnet Flyer trips that depart the downtown area (Congress/6th) at 11:40 am.

 

245 Copperfield:  One Weekday morning trip on Route 245 Copperfield departing the Braker Ln / N Lamar Blvd area at 7:05 am continues as Route 101 departing North Lamar Transfer Center at 7:16 am and allows passengers to continue their trip to downtown without a transfer.  One Weekday afternoon trip on Route 101 departing the Congress Ave / 6th St area at 5:06 pm continues as Route 245 Copperfield departing North Lamar Transfer Center at 5:35 pm and allows passengers to continue their trip up to the Braker Ln /IH-35 area without a transfer.

 

325 Ohlen: Saturday service is now provided to Wal-Mart along Rutherford Lane.  Service to Walnut Creek Business Park has been discontinued on Saturdays. 

 

935 North I35 Express: One additional evening Northbound trip has been scheduled to depart the Riverside Dr. / Congress Ave. area at approximately 6pm.

 

985 LX - Downtown Express:  Two morning and afternoon trips have been added to the LX schedule.  These trips serve all downtown bus stops between Riverside Drive and MLK Blvd only.  The route travels directly to/from Northwest and Leander Park & Ride facilities using IH-35 and US 183 expressways non-stop.

 

990 NEX - Northeast US 290 Express:  Service to Applied Materials along US 290 and Giles Road is available.  The route serves the Southbound bus stops along Congress Avenue at approximately 6:30 am and is scheduled to arrive at Applied Materials at approximately 7:00 am.  In the afternoons, this route picks up passengers at Applied Materials at approximately 5:25 pm and expresses directly to Downtown (Congress/6th) arriving at approximately 5:50 pm.
