AUSTIN RAILROAD CROSSINGS TO BE REBUILT

Capital Metro project will last until October

Capital Metro is rebuilding 16 railroad crossings throughout the city of Austin over the next 7 months.  This week workers will focus on the railroad crossing on Braker Lane between Burnet Road and Kramer Lane.  When the work is complete, drivers will notice a smoother ride when crossing the tracks.   Workers will reconstruct rail track, lay pre-cast concrete panels and asphalt approaches and sidewalks.

Crossings include Rutland Drive, Braker Lane, Kramer Lane, Gracy Farms, McNeil Road, Ohlen, Anderson Lane, Morrow, North Lamar, Denson, 51st Street, 38th Street, Cherrywood, Tillery, Lyons Road and Springdale.

To minimize traffic delays, workers will lay track replacement and concrete panels on weekends.  The areas will be clearly marked with signs.

Braker Lane between Burnet Road and Kramer

The eastbound lanes of Braker Lane between Burnet Road and Kramer will remain closed for traffic from 7:00 PM Friday, March 30, to 7:00 AM Monday, April 2. During this period, north side lanes will remain open for traffic, one lane in each direction. The construction for other half of the crossing will be completed on the following weekend (April 6 to April 9), when the westbound lanes will be closed for traffic.
