Capital Metro Board
approves service changes for February
The Capital Metro Board
of Directors Tuesday approved a series of bus service changes for February
2002. The changes include:
·
Extensions of routes into North Austin
areas not previously served by Capital Metro fixed-route service.
·
Two new crosstown routes in North Austin
in the Braker Lane corridor and the Parmer Lane corridor.
·
An extension of an existing crosstown
route in Southeast Austin along the William Cannon route serving neighborhoods
Southeast of Onion Creek.
·
Better connections to major activity
centers such as the Arboretum area.
·
Frequency and hour improvements for
Route 320 St. Johns in East Austin and 325 Ohlen in North Austin, the most
productive weekend service in the entire Capital Metro system.
·
Schedule adjustments targeted at improved
on-time performance on ten routes.
The service changes are based on an
extensive public outreach campaign and are designed to meet customer needs.
The changes become effective Sunday,
February 24, 2002.
