Presidential Visit on July 9 and 10 to Cause Detours 

AUSTIN, Texas (July 8, 2014) – Nine Capital Metro bus routes in the downtown area are scheduled to be detoured due to the upcoming presidential visit to Austin on July 9 and 10.

Service will be detoured beginning mid-morning Wednesday, July 9, through Thursday afternoon, July 10, in the downtown area along Red River, 8th, 11th and 12th Streets. Nine mainline bus routes, along with MetroAccess service, will be affected.

Capital Metro is also anticipating possible delays throughout the day Wednesday and Thursday on all its services, including MetroRail. Riders are encouraged to stay up to date on the latest detour information at capmetro.org, by calling the GO Line at 512-474-1200 or via Capital Metro’s Facebook and Twitter pages.

Signage will be posted at closed bus stops near the IH-35, Red River, 11th and 12th Street area, alerting passengers to the detours and providing alternative stops. Passengers can pick up their bus at any stop along the detoured route.

Please be advised that detours may be altered as circumstances dictate.

Visita Presidencial el 9-10 de julio Causará Desvíos a Rutas de Autobús

 

 

AUSTIN, Texas (8 de julio 2014) — Nueve rutas de autobús serán desviadas entre el centro debido a la visita presidencial el 9 y 10 de julio.

Servicio será desviado a partir de media mañana el miércoles hasta la tarde del jueves en el centro sobre las calles Red River, 8, 11 y 12. Nueve líneas de autobuses y el servicio MetroAccess será afectado.

Además, Capital Metro anticipa posibles retrasos durante ambos días en todos los servicios, incluyendo MetroRail.

Capital Metro tendrá rótulos en paradas de autobús que estén cerrados cerca del área de IH-35, Red River y las calles 11 y 12, alertando a los desvíos y paradas alternativas. Los pasajeros podrán coger su autobús en cualquiera parada a lo largo de la ruta desviada. Información específica sobre los desvíos está disponible en el sitio web de Capital Metro.
