Navigating Your Trip On Guadalupe & Lavaca

Routes that previously traveled on Congress Avenue now run along Guadalupe (southbound) or Lavaca (northbound) due to Summer Service Changes. Look for special signs to help guide you to your new bus stop. 

MetroAirport Route 100 will continue to run on Congress Avenue.

What’s new?

Transit priority lanes and bike lanes – Dedicated bus lanes between MLK and Cesar Chavez Streets, along a companion bike lane through downtown lets you bypass traffic.

Key transfer locations – Routes will connect at major stops along Guadalupe and Lavaca to help you transfer easily and get to your final destination faster.

New bus stop amenities – Stops have been upgraded from what you previously experienced on Congress Ave.—all new locations feature shelters and benches.

Fewer event-related detours – By moving off busy Congress Ave., buses avoid special events that previously caused route detours, offering you a more direct trip through downtown.


Traveling Tips: To/From Congress Ave. and Guadalupe/Lavaca

Getting on or off the bus in downtown? We know your trip doesn’t end at the bus stop, so check our handy map for navigating west towards Congress Ave. or for traveling to your bus from east downtown.

Walking: Good walking paths are available between the new transit corridor and Congress Ave. along many streets between Cesar Chavez and 11th.

Try Cesar Chavez, 3rd or 8th Streets—offering accessible sidewalks and a direct trip through downtown. See streets highlighted in GREEN on map.

Travel by bus: Transfer to routes running east and west within downtown via Routes 2 Rosewood, 4 Montopolis, 6 East 12th, 21 Exposition, 22 Chicon, or 37 Colony Park.
