About Austin Transit Partnership

The Austin Transit Partnership is an independent local government corporation with the authority and resources to design,  construct and implement the Project Connect program. Operating with full transparency for the community and oversight from the Capital Metro board and Austin City Council, the ATP board is appointed by members of the CapMetro board and city council. The ATP board is responsible in the following capacities:

  • Approve board officers, adoption of bylaws and approval of annual budget
  • Approve future interlocal agreements and joint powers agreement
  • Oversight of design, construction and implementation of Project Connect’s projects
  • Implement the program in accordance with the Project Connect map and associated sequencing plan as approved by CapMetro and the City of Austin
  • Approve financing, design, engineering and construction contracts, as well as real estate and vehicle acquisition contracts
  • Approve grant agreement and interlocal agreement with the City of Austin for funding anti-displacement strategies
  • Provide regular updates to CapMetro and the City of Austin
