September Service Changes

Effective Sunday, September 19

 

CapMetro’s persistent staff shortage is affecting the quality of service our customers have come to expect. We've had to adjust our schedules to deliver better service to our customers.

Most of the new schedules took effect Sunday, September 19. The changes primarily involve how often individual routes operate, though a few routes have been suspended at least through the end of the year. To see if your route is affected, see the tables below and check our online Trip Planner.

 


What’s Changing

E-Bus service is suspended for the fall semester, but our Night Owl routes can supplement the suspended routes. Additional changes to service that put CapMetro in the best position to serve our customers:

  • All 15 routes in the High-Frequency Network have seen some change to their frequency, some just on the weekend and others seven days a week.
  • A few of these routes have been running at 10 to 12 minute frequencies and have returned to 15. Others are operating at reduced frequencies, either every 20 or 30 minutes.
  • CapMetro implemented the 10-12 minute frequencies before COVID vaccines were readily available and before we installed new air filtration systems on our vehicles. They ensured customers and operators had enough space between each other. Those routes are returning to their regular 15-minute service.
