Capital Metro is here to help you have a safe ride out on New Year's Eve – even better, we're offering free rides after 5 p.m.! So whether you're going out downtown or heading to a friend's house, CapMetro can help get you to the New Year. Remember, masks are required to ride on all CapMetro services so be sure to grab yours before heading out.

The increase of Covid-19 cases has affected our staffing levels, with many of our bus operators and other team members either sick or in self-quarantine. This has resulted in multiple routes with reduced frequency and trips being dropped. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience. MetroRail

Looking to come to Downtown festivities from Leander, Lakeline or North Austin? You're in luck! We're running special late-night service on MetroRail this New Year's Eve with the last train leaving Downtown station at 2:30 a.m.

Night Owls

Our late-night Night Owl service is no stranger to keeping the party going and New Year's Eve is no exception. See what's in your area and have peace of mind that you'll be able to hang with friends while finding a free, safe ride home.

• Night Owl Routes 481, 483, 484,  485 and 486 operate from 6th Street and Congress Avenue until 3 a.m. on Friday and Saturday nights.

Other Services

We have a wide range of useful services throughout the Austin area. However, many of them will end service before midnight and several will see service disruptions affected by that night's fireworks display, so please make sure to plan your trip online or with the CapMetro App beforehand if you plan to countdown into the New Year.
