August 2024 Proposed Service Changes

CapMetro makes planned changes to our service three times a year to improve your riding experience and respond to shifts in how our customers use the service.

To meet the needs of customers and efficiently use our resources, we are proposing UT Shuttle route adjustments, transition to school service on bus routes and other minor adjustments. If approved, these changes will be implemented on Sunday, August 18.

We have recorded a presentation on the proposed service changes. View the video here.

Combining UT Shuttles

To increase accessibility, connectivity and better fit the needs of the community, we propose consolidating UT Shuttle Route 640 (Forty Acres) and Route 641 (East Campus) into one expanded campus circulator with frequency increased to every 10-minutes.

School Service Schedules

We will begin our normal transition to school-level service on UT Shuttle routes as well as select bus routes with seasonal school trips.

Minor Schedule Adjustments

To improve on-time performance and reliability, select Bus routes and Rail schedules may be adjusted.

To optimize performance on Pickup, we propose minor boundary adjustments to four zones (East Austin, Dessau, Walnut Creek and North Oak Hill).
