Bus Farebox Replacement 2026
In mid-2026, CapMetro is upgrading the fareboxes on all buses. The new fareboxes will not sell paper day passes. This change does not affect our other services, such as Pickup or Rail.
What You Need to Know
- Day Passes will no longer be sold with cash on the bus.
- Cash will still be accepted for single rides.
- Fare prices are the same.
We're Here to Help
We want to explain the changes and hear your feedback. From now until mid-December, CapMetro ambassadors will be at high-traffic bus stops and transit centers to talk riders through these changes. Our team will be setup outside the Rosa Parks Boardroom at 2910 East 5th Street on November 17 and December 17 at noon to answer your questions in person.
Reasonable modifications and equal access to communications, including auxiliary aids, services, and translation assistance, are provided upon request. Please contact engage@capmetro.org at least two days in advance.
