Say Hello to Pickup!

Capital Metro has brought ride hailing to public transportation. With our Pickup app, you can arrange on-demand transit service from your home to an appointment, a shopping trip or anywhere within its service zone. All for just $1.25, the same as MetroBus and MetroRapid! Download the Pickup App from your phone’s app store to get started.

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, customers are encouraged to limit travel as much as possible. As with other Capital Metro services, Pickup by CapMetro is currently operating on a reduced schedule. Service is available in most Pickup zones weekdays from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., with no Saturday service in any zone. Customers must wear a face covering while riding Pickup. If you have a disability that affects your ability to wear a face covering, please contact Martin Kareithi, our program manager of accessible services, to request a reasonable modification. Call 512-389-7583 or email martin.kareithi@capmetro.org. We continue to follow the direction of Austin Public Health and the CDC and will further adjust service if deemed necessary. The most up to date information may be found online at CapMetro.org/COVID19.

Note: Pickup operates in 7 service zones now, and more are on the way. You can request a ride directly from your phone, either through the app or by calling a Pickup Service Center (at 512-369-6200). Pickup is a shared-ride service, and so we may pick up one or two of your neighbors on the way. Pickup vehicles are completely accessible and can accommodate customers in a wheelchair.

Each trip costs just $1.25, the same as a Single Ride pass on MetroBus and MetroRapid. A Day Pass, 7-Day Pass or 31-Day Pass will cover your Pickup ride also. Of course, Kids Ride Free on all CapMetro services, just use the promo code child2019. All you need to do is download the app from your phone's app store (search “Pickup Capital Metro”), register for an account and you'll be ready to go. Book a ride and we'll try to pick you up within 15 minutes.
