Why fight traffic on your commute to and from work when you can use the time for something you'd rather be doing instead?

Catch a Rail Connector bus

  • Take the train to MLK Station and then hop on a Connector bus to take you to the UT campus ( Route 465).
  • At Kramer Station, Route 466 will take you to The Domain or UT's Pickle Research Campus.

Night rail service

MetroRail trains run late on Friday night. Enjoy Austin's downtown, where there's always something going on, or destinations at any stop along the line. The last train leaves Plaza Saltillo at about 12:30 a.m. Friday night. If you're out even later, check our Late-Night Service.

Remember, construction for our PTC project has forced us to discontinue weekend Metrorail service through the end of 2019.

A guaranteed ride home

If you're worried about how you'll get home in case of an emergency and thus hesitant to take the train, then we've got you covered. The Guaranteed Ride Home program provides registered MetroExpress, MetroFlyer, MetroRail and MetroRideShare customers with a taxi ride home from work in the event of an unexpected emergency. For an annual membership fee of $5, you can register and get reimbursed for up to 4 emergency taxi rides a year.
