CapMetro and RideAustin Expanding MetroLink Pilot

Program provides first-mile/last-mile transit connection to bus stops.

AUSTIN, Texas - Starting Monday, Oct. 22, CapMetro and RideAustin will expand the free  , adding three Innovation Zones to the service. The initial pilot service launched June 4 in West Austin, using RideAustin to connect customers to two CapMetro bus stops on Exposition Boulevard.

The pilot is now expanding to three new zones: Johnston Terrace and Springdale/Rogge Lane in East Austin and the area around St. David's North Austin Medical Center. The service will be available free of charge to CapMetro customers traveling from within the Innovation Zones to one of the designated bus stops. These trips will be available weekdays from 6 a.m.- 9 p.m and can be booked on the RideAustin app.

The MetroLink pilot expansion was based on feedback collected after Cap Remap, the largest service change in CapMetro's history that took place earlier this year. 

CapMetro customers who need wheelchair-accessible vehicles or are unable to use the RideAustin app, can call 512-369-6200 to have a ride reserved for them.
