AUSTIN, Texas - If you're planning on staying out late to attend Halloween celebrations, you can rely on CapMetro for safe travels to and from the festivities. This year, the transportation agency will provide two nights of extended holiday service on Saturday, Oct. 26 and Halloween, Thursday, Oct. 31.

There are several ways to get to the fall fun:

MetroExpress

MetroExpress will have extended service for Halloween, with Routes 980 and 985 operating until 2:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26 and Halloween.

MetroExpress Route 980 operates on MoPac from Howard Station, while Route 985 runs from Leander to downtown. A single ride on MetroExpress is $3.50 and a Day Pass is $7. MetroExpress riders can purchase passes with cash or through the CapMetro App. Stored value cards may also be used.

MetroRapid

Routes 801 and 803 will run every 20 minutes until about 2:30 a.m. on both Saturday night, Oct. 26 and Halloween. Many of our  High-Frequency routes run until midnight.

MetroRapid Route 801 runs between North Lamar and South Congress, while Route 803 runs from Burnet to South Lamar. Both routes offer several stops downtown. A single ride on MetroRapid is $1.25 and a Day Pass is $2.50. MetroRapid riders can purchase passes with cash or through the CapMetro App. Stored value cards may also be used.
Late-Night Services

Riders can also avoid high priced taxis and rideshare fares by taking advantage of two late-night services offered by CapMetro,  Night Owl and E-Bus.

The five Night Owl routes will run every 20 to 30 minutes until 3 a.m. on both Saturday night, Oct. 26 and Halloween. These routes travel between neighborhoods around Austin and 6th and Congress.

The three E-Bus routes will run every 10 to 20 minutes between student housing neighborhoods and downtown until 3 a.m. on both nights.

Night Owl and E-Bus fares are $1.25 for a single ride or $2.50 for a Day Pass. Late-night service riders can purchase passes with cash or through the CapMetro App. Stored value cards may also be used.
