CapMetro Offers Fare-Free Rides on Election Day

All CapMetro services will be free all day on Tuesday, November 5.

AUSTIN, Texas – As a public agency, CapMetro wants to make sure everyone has equal access to voting locations. For this reason, the agency is providing free rides to community members on Election Day, Tuesday, November 3.

Even for those community members who have a car, they may have issues parking at some polling locations. CapMetro’s bus and rail services offer easy access to many polling places across town without the hassle or costs of parking.
To find out which route will best serve you to vote, visit CapMetro’s list of polling locations matched with transit options.

Customers can also use the agency’s Trip Planner online or with the CapMetro App and type “election” or “polling place” into the search bar, which will provide a list of voting options. The results will include polling locations in both Travis and Williamson Counties.

CapMetro Bikeshare is also offering a free pass on Election Day in the Bikeshare app named "I Voted" that allows a 60-min checkout of a bike. Bikes must be docked into a Bikeshare station within 60 minutes of check out to avoid overage fees. Note: A credit card (not debit cards or giftcards) is required for all Bikeshare accounts and we will place a temporary $24 hold for the first 24 hours to cover any overage fees.
