CapMetro Rail Service Temporarily Suspended Aug. 24–27 for North Burnet/Uptown Station Construction
Buses and alternate routes are available while crews complete critical track work

AUSTIN, TX — CapMetro Rail service will be temporarily suspended Monday, Aug. 24 through Thursday, Aug. 27, as crews complete critical track work for the future North Burnet/Uptown Station, which is scheduled to open in 2027.
Construction activities will begin Sunday, Aug. 23, when Rail service is not operating.
Located within the growing Uptown ATX development near The Domain, the future North Burnet/Uptown Station will serve one of Central Texas' fastest-growing employment and residential centers. The new station is projected to become the second busiest on the Red Line.
The project includes double-length platforms, more than a half mile of double track, improved pedestrian and bicycle access, bus connections, and other customer amenities. When the station opens in 2027, it will expand access to jobs, housing, and entertainment, while strengthening connections across the Red Line and improving operational reliability for customers.
While CapMetro Rail is closed, crews will complete necessary track work, railroad crossings, signals, safety testing, and other key improvements for the future station. The community may notice increased construction activity and temporary traffic near the project area during the closure.
