Reduced Fares
Reduced fares are available to qualified riders, and are generally half the price of our standard fares. You can use an Accessible Touch Pass, which allows you to tap your pass on the farebox and go.
Who’s eligible for this card?
- Adults 65 and older
- Medicare card holders
- Active and reserve duty military ID holders not in uniform (In uniform military personnel ride for free)
- Riders with Disabilities
Equifare
CapMetro is introducing a new discount (available using the AMP card) to make our fares more equitable. We know that low-income customers, who depend on our services the most, tend to pay for their transit passes one trip at a time instead of taking advantage of the savings that come with day or monthly passes.
People Who Ride Free
- Kids under 18 ride free (riders 10 and under must be accompanied by someone 12 or older)
- UT and ACC Students with valid ID ride free
- Emergency and military personnel in uniform.
- Active and reserve duty military that aren’t in uniform qualify for Reduced Fares with a valid military ID.
- City of Austin and Travis County employees ride free with a valid ID.
Group Purchases
Purchase passes in large quantities. If you're a business looking to expand your employee incentives through adding transit passes – the CapMetro for Business program is designed for you.
CapMetro for Business is a bulk purchasing plan that allows organizations to offer discounted transit passes.
Fair Fares for All
We provide deeply discounted and free passes to over 230 local social service agencies. We've contributed more than $1 million as a founding partner of the Transit Empowerment Fund (TEF). CapMetro offers the HMIS Integrated Fare Program for individuals facing homelessness and housing insecurity who are receiving services through Austin’s homeless response system. Eligible individuals can request a two-year transit pass.
